I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years experience in behavioral healthcare. I have effectively managed in-patient and outpatient programs for diverse populations including adults with severe mental illness and adolescents at-risk of substance abuse and addiction. I am a skilled diagnostician who is trauma informed and culturally adept at serving individuals, families and groups that are marginalized, stigmatized, and otherwise oppressed.
I have taught in various graduate programs in the Los Angeles area including the USC School of Social Work, Cal State LA, Phillips Graduate Institute, and Antioch University. I have served on committees for resource publication and training such as the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, the Californian Joint Action Council, and the Hollywood Homeless Youth Partnership. I am a passionate speaker and have presented at several state and national conferences on topics like co-occurring disorders, harm reduction, and systems integration. I also provide on-line training for the National Association of Social Workers.
My professional goals are aimed at promoting social justice and social change through greater public awareness. I am committed to reducing stigma related to mental illness and substance abuse, and am delighted with each opportunity to enhance knowledge, improve competency, and build capacity in these areas of clinical practice.
